Freshman Welcome

This year, the KIT Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will hold the welcome ceremony for the freshmen in the bachelor's degree program in mechanical engineering at Europapark Rust.

All freshmen are cordially invited to participate. The KIT Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will take care of the transfer to Rust by coach. Europa-Park GmbH und Co Mack KG cordially invites to the stay in the Europapark and the associated use of all park attractions.

Registration starts at the beginning of orientation ("O-Phase").

Transfer from/to Rust as well as admission to Europapark are free of charge for first-year students.

Preliminary program

  • Meeting point at 7:15 a.m. at KIT Campus South in front of the Student Center (Engesserstr. in front of AKK).
     
  • Joint trip with coaches from Karlsruhe to the Europapark Rust.
  • Welcome to Europapark Rust at about 9:30 a.m. in the foyer to the ballroom Berlin.
  • First semester welcome of the KIT Faculty of Mechanical Engineering from 10:30 to 12:00 a.m. in the Ballroom Berlin.
  • Design competition from  noon to 1 p.m. in the Ballroom Berlin.
  • Free use of all attractions of the Europapark.
  • Meeting point for the journey home at 6 p.m. at the exit of the Europapark followed by the return journey.
  • Arrival in Karlsruhe at KIT Campus Süd at about 8 p.m.

Backstage tour

In the afternoon of the day, there will be an exclusive one-hour backstage tour for approx. 20-30 participants at the Europapark Rust, which will provide an interesting look behind the scenes. The participants will be determined at the contruction competition.
