Erstsemester versammelt im Europa-Park zum Start ins Studium Europa-Park

The KIT Department of Mechanical Engineering warmly invites all first-year students enrolled in the bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering to this year’s first-semester welcome event at Europa-Park Rust.


The event will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, and will run all day
at Europa-Park in Rust .

Information on Participation and the Program

In addition to an official welcome, the day offers the opportunity to get to know fellow students, make new connections, and enjoy an exciting day together.
The KIT Department of Mechanical Engineering will provide chartered buses for transportation to and from Rust. Admission to Europa-Park, including access to all attractions, is generously sponsored by Europa-Park GmbH & Co Mack KG.

Participation is free for first-semester students.
A valid KIT account is required to register.
Registration begins October 12 at:

Preliminary Program
  • 7:15 a.m. Meet at the KIT Campus South in front of the Student Center (Engesserstraße, near the AKK)
  • Departure for Rust - Group travel by tour bus to Europa-Park
     
  • Approx. 9:30 a.m. Arrival at Europa-Park Rust and welcome in the foyer of the Berlin Ballroom
  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Official welcome for first-year students from the KIT Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Berlin Ballroom
  • 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Engineering Design Challenge in the Berlin Ballroom
  • Starting at 1:00 p.m. Free access to all attractions at Europa-Park
  • 6:00 p.m. Meet at the park exit and return together to Karlsruhe
  • approx. 7:45 p.m. Arrival at the KIT Campus South

Guaranteed Driving Fun
Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Tour

A special highlight awaits interested participants in the afternoon: An exclusive one-hour behind-the-scenes tour will give a small group of about five to eight students exciting behind-the-scenes insights into Europa-Park.

Spots will be awarded as part of the Engineering Design Challenge. The most successful participants will have the opportunity to take part in this special tour.
